Sofie Boiten studied theatre studies at the University of Amsterdam and dramaturgy at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig. During her studies, she was invited to the festival Love at First Sight in Antwerp with the performance HEDDA: a monstrous tragedy (directed by Rebekka Nilsson), and the solo-performance Woyzeck: Germany’s sharpest knife (directed by Lorenz Nolting) was shown at the Thalia Theatre Hamburg.
As a freelance dramaturg she works together with multiple directors in both Germany and the Netherlands. She collaborates particularly close with the director Lorenz Nolting. As an artistic team, they write and develop numerous projects, that were, among others, shown at the Theater Osnabrück, the Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Volksbühne-am-Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin.
